Here's to more nights with little to no sleep as the race against time begins. I hope I'll be okay this semester as I continue working on Phantasmagoria, the worlds are difficult and tedious to create, I am wishing for the best. Also, I'm taking an oil painting elective, I really suck at painting but graphic novel was fully taken :/ Doesn't matter, I'll be learning something new!
I know you're no angel - we cannot be while raising dust with our feet walking on this planets surface. Still, you're more convincing than the many angels I've heard of before. So maybe there's a career opportunity.
Having seen your creative self here by countless examples, I don't know why you should be hesitant and doubt yourself. But I think it's very natural. Anyway, it's far better than the nobodys who tend to always overestimate their own fartish works on a regular level.
Oil painting? Give it time, and you may surprise yourself. I'm not sure how to interpret "graphic novel was fully taken", but since I'm an addict of graphic novels where the artists heart went into it, I cannot but recommend one of my favourites: Habibi by Craig Thompson. I don't know if it's available in Singapore, especially since Borders had to close down (what a shame), but maybe there are other well-stocked places in the meantime where you may be able to have a glimpse at this truly epic graphic novel.
Thank you very much There's always room for improvement ^^
I am actually quite excited about oil painting, about the graphic novel statement, it was due to the fact that there was a graphic novel elective open but the forms were filled up so quickly I did not manage to get a spot XD I've heard of Habibi! It is available (that's great), it's sad that Borders is now gone but at least we still have Kinokuniya which is great too~ Thanks for the recommendation!
I remember Kinokuniya now; I've been visiting that store a couple of times at the Takashimaya centre in Orchard road. And impressed I was. It's just that Borders was so convenient. When in Singapore, we usually stay at the Treetops Business apartments. From there, it's only a short walk to Isetan, where we would get some freshly baked croissants from the bakery in the basement and then go outside for a coffee (Carol also carrying some Sushi she got from the food department at Isetan), then we would stuff ourselves stupidly, only to head then across Orchard road into Borders for an extended (and often finally expensive) visit. Now that was really an agreeable way to start a new day.
I hope oil painting will open an additional road for your very creative mind. Should it turn out to be that way, and should you come up with something you're satisfied with at some time in the future, then I wouldn't mind if you would upload it here at dA.
This is very nice~ I think it actually looks better on DA with the lighter background then on bighugelabs with the black background, but that may just be me. I look forward to more of your 2013 work! Good luck in oil painting

P.S. In regards to Twisted Fairy-tales, the ORIGINAL Grimm fairy-tales are huge-ly inspiring and very dark.
